I’m such a fan of Zia personal care products. Between their natural therapeutic ingredients to the delicate fragrances that are in their product line, they have never disappointed me. I’ve been using Zia Age Defying Body Cleanser as a cleanser for my face for several months now and have been very satisfied. What makes Zia Age Defying Body Cleanser stand out is it cleans gently without using soap or SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) which is one of the most controversial ingredients in our many personal care products. They have a special ingredient called TeaOx. TeaOx is a Zia exclusive Trademark which is an age-fighting nutrient complex made with pure fruit and botanical extracts including red raspberry, currant, chamomile and green tea.
Zia’s Age Defying Body Cleanser is a botanical complex is created from pure fruit and herbal extracts. Their citrus and apple extracts help control breakouts that come sometimes with aging. The marine algae and TeaOx ingredients help sooth and protect the skin from the harmful environment without over drying it.
Zia’s Age Defying Body Cleanser’s main ingredients listed are yucca, willow bark, borage, tea tree, aloe vera, marine algae extracts, sugar cane, citrus, apple, green tea, glycerin, peppermint and tangerine essentials, just to name a few. I looked up the first six here to see the relationship to good skin care and here is what I found:
Yucca is used as an alternative medicine for soap. It was the most common use for Native American tribes for hygiene.
Willow Bark is used by herbalist for inflammatory or ulcer breakouts for the skin. It also is used for arthritis, fever, and headaches.
Borage is used medicinally as an anti-inflammatory, for treating arthritis, as well as certain skin conditions (e.g. atopic dermatitis) and respiratory inflammation.
Tea Tree is used for treatment of impetigo, dandruff, and many other skin problems.
Marine algae extract is beneficial for the skin to retain its moisture content.
Aloe Vera was used by Cleopatra to maintain her beautiful and youthful skin. Need I say more?
I bought Zia’s Age Defying Body Cleanser at LuckyVitamin.com for $7.96 for a 7 ounce tube which normally retails for $9.95 according to their product advertisement . So, I decided to check out Zia’s website to see how this compared. However, I didn’t find the exact cleanser at the Zia’s website which leads me to believe that perhaps they could be discontinuing it. That is typically what happens if you do not see it on the company’s home page. It can take a while for the product line to finish through the rest of the retail network which means LuckyVitamin.com has a great offer for you. The cleansers that Zia has are similar tubes with different versions of skin types and these sell for around $25 each. For a flat rate of $5.95 up to 10 lbs, LuckyVitamin wins hands down in my book!
