If you have a voice changing button on your phone, you can pull off a funny April Fool’s phone prank on the caller and an additional friend or family member who will think the person on the other end of the line has absolutely lost their mind. This funny April Fool’s phone prank was used on me, and my dad successfully pulled off an early April Fool’s prank that had me absolutely baffled and my mom questioning my sanity. I began questioning my sanity, and it was because my mom had no idea what was going on. Ironically the joke was on her too, and her reaction to my questions lent more credence to this funny April Fool’s phone prank. If you don’t have a phone with a voice changing button, consider buying one. You’ll have more fun with it than you could ever imagine!
I called my parent’s home last night shortly after a tornado warning was aired on television. Before I hung up the phone I told my mom that people were leaving the apartment. The sky looked ominous, and the tornado sirens were blaring. It was a little frightening, but my dad said he thought it was too cold for tornados. I knew what I saw on television, and I knew what I was hearing. I decided to hang up and listen to my scanner.
After the sirens stopped and an all clear message came across the scanner, I called my parents back to say all was well. My dad answered the phone, but when he turned it over to my mom, the confusion began. She sounded as if she had just inhaled helium, and I asked her what she was doing to change her voice. I knew she couldn’t make her voice sound like Alvin the Chipmunk without some sort of device, but she denied trying to change it. Was this some sort of elaborate April Fool’s prank? I could tell she sincerely didn’t know what I was talking about, but her voice continued to sound different, and at times I couldn’t even understand what she was saying.
My mom handed the phone back to my dad, and he sounded normal. I asked him if my mom did something to change her voice, and I insisted they were playing an April Fool’s prank. He stood by his story that they weren’t playing an early April Fool’s prank, and once again, he handed the phone back to my mom.
She sounded normal for a few seconds, but once again her voice changed, and when I questioned her again, she began questioning me. She asked if I was okay, and she asked if I was on my pain medication. I insisted that her voice was different, and it was clear that she wasn’t playing an early April Fool’s prank. I was beginning to scare her, but not nearly as much as she was scaring me. She sounded like an evil little troll, and I was beginning to question my sanity.
How My Dad Pulled This Off
My dad finally put an end to this early April Fool’s prank when he realized my mom thought I was going insane. She began to think they needed to come to my home and take me to the hospital, especially since I had mentioned a potential tornado and people leaving the apartment building. After the voice incident, she wondered if I was imagining everything. I knew what I was hearing, and sane or not, I wasn’t going to deny it. I must admit this ridiculous situation that seemed like an April Fool’s prank became a little scary since I knew my mom wasn’t fooling around.
I was relieved when my dad confessed to pushing a voice changing button on the phone. I never knew they had a voice changing option, but the prank was on my mom as well. She didn’t know that every time my dad handed her the phone, he hit the voice changing button. I could hear her impish little voice that had changed, but she couldn’t tell it was any different. This early April Fool’s day prank made my mom and I both think I was losing my mind, and my dad had all he could do to keep from cracking up!
