The Villas of Grand Cypress Hotel is a famous hotel located in Orlando, Florida. The Villas of Grand Cypress rank as number six on Trip Advisor’s list of most popular hotels in Orlando, and is has an average daily price of $300.
For such a high price, it is natural to have high-expectations in all areas for the hotel. How well does the Villas of Grand Cypress live up to the expectations? Is it worth the price, or should you look else where? Read on to find out.
The Villas is designed to have a modern feel in an old structure. The buildings were originally constructed in the 1980’s, and while they have been meticulously maintained, they have not been updated in style and seem dated. The woodwork and painting gives a comfortable, at-home feel, a nice change over the clinical atmosphere of some hotels.
The rooms are generally larger than the rooms you’ll find at standard hotels. The suites have a mini-condominium feel, and are comfortable to move about in. They are equipped with a small kitchen, which is only good for very basic things – there’s only the basics like cups, plates, and silverware.
The surrounding rooms and the residence as a whole tends to be very quiet, with rare slight noise occurrences.
The Villas of Grand Cypress boast a large amount of features for the community. There is a large swimming pool with a rock wall and water slides. There are also a few hot springs for users to relax in.
There are numerous golf courses scattered over the resort, as well as an equestrian club, salon, lake with fake beach, biking trails, sailing, and kayaking. There is a daily resort fee for using these ($60) which is included in the package for many people. Inquire before purchasing.
Concerns and complaints about the Villas is generally minor. Some find the early closing of the dining room (8pm) to be a nuisance. Another complaint is about the shuttle service. Though it is advertised as being available throughout the day as going to Disney land, it actually only leaves a few times in the morning, and doesn’t come back until night time.
Overall, the Villas of Grand Cypress are an excellent choice in residence, but perhaps not the best choice for you. If you are looking for a comfortable, quiet place to relax, with some golfing or swimming on the side, the Villas will be worth every penny. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for a vibrant community where you are in constant contact with fellow residents, you’d better off looking into the Hyatt next door, which is affiliated with the Villas.
