Burger King hails as the number two fast food restaurant in America, falling behind only McDonald’s. A hot house of flame broiled burgers and fries, you can often smell the King cooking up their beef patties from a mile away, whether or not you’re in their dining room. Upon inspection, Burger King is one of the most unhealthy restaurants in the fast food business. It beats McDonald’s hands down when it comes to which restaurant has more fat and calories in its foods. Be prepared to be shocked.
1. Whopper with Cheese
A classic American cheeseburger on steroids, the Whopper is just that- enormous. Served on a nutrition less white bun, this sandwich packs in 760 calories and 47 grams of fat, beating the Big Mac by a landslide. The double and triple patty options? 990 calories and 64 grams of fat, and 1230 calories and 82 grams of fat, respectively.
2. Quad Stacker
Just what it sounds like, this sandwich contains four, count em’ -4-, smaller sized hamburger patties and four slices of cheese. With 1000 calories and 68 grams of fat, you can’t help but wonder who is ordering these.
3. TenderCrisp Chicken Sandwich
A giant fried chicken breast filet, huge white toasted bun, mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato make this sandwich a heart attack waiting to happen. Clocking in more calories- 790- than a whopper with cheese, and 44 grams of fat, the TenderCrisp is a disgusting excuse for a sandwich.
4. Large Fries
More calories than other fast food fries, BK’s fries are first lightly coated in a breading or batter to make them extra crispy. With 500 calories and 28 grams of fat, they are also extra fattening.
1. Chicken TenderGrill Sandwich, without Mayo
The chicken breast is juicy enough to let you hold the mayonnaise without regretting it, but add less fattening condiments such as barbecue sauce instead, if you must. Still served on a giant, nutrition less bun, this sandwich, as long as you hold the mayo- is a healthy choice, clocking in only 400 calories and 7 grams of fat.
2. Spicy Chick-n-Crisp Sandwich, without Mayo
A spicy, thin, fried chicken fritter coated joins a sesame seed bun and lettuce. Not exactly a hot bed of nutrition, but with 320 calories and 13 grams of fat when the mayonnaise is left out, it’s not a horrible choice, either.
3. Whopper Junior without Mayo
Again, leaving the mayo off can save you calories and a muffin top. A smaller version of the Whopper, the Junior contains just 330 calories and 16 grams of fat, much less than its counterpart. Make sure you leave the cheese and mayonnaise off, though.
4. Small Onion Rings
I was delighted to see that these only have 140 calories and 7 grams of fat. You don’t get a whole lot, but it’s enough to satisfy the need for something crunchy and salty.
