Do you love opera music and watching opera performances in theaters? One of the best places to go and see opera performances live is in Denver Colorado at the “Opera Colorado.” It is a beautiful opera house where you can listen and watch famous opera singers dance, sing, and act. Opera Colorado is located on 695 South Colorado Blvd Suite 20 in Denver, Colorado. You can contact Opera Colorado and find out what opera show is playing there by simply calling 303-778-1500 and you will get a list of times, dates, and shows playing inside the Colorado Opera.
Now for those of you who have never heard of the Opera Colorado it is a beauty opera house where you can go and watch opera performances live, but in order to do that you have to purchase tickets ahead of time. They way you purchase tickets to see live opera performances is by checking the Opera Colorado website out and seeing what shows are playing on what days and at what times and buying them either over the phone by calling the number I gave to you above, online at http://www.operacolorado.org/tickets, or directly from the Opera Colorado House. The Opera Colorado house also has tickets available for the handicap so they can feel comfortable watching a live opera performance in their opera house as well, but again you have to purchase the tickets ahead of time because seats do run out fast. Now if by chance you miss the Opera Colorado ticket selling times they do sell tickets directly from the opera house the day of the show, but the seats aren’t as good. However I will say the price to buy a ticket to see a show at Opera Colorado usually ranges between $85 and $300 dollars per ticket, which is a bit high I know, but I will say its well worth it.
The shows that will be playing at Opera Colorado this year are in a series called, “Your Passport to Around the World.” There will be three shows taking place in this series and the first one of the season is “Puccini’s Madama Butterfly,” and it is an opera about devotion, passion and honor of a Japanese Bride, her love for her family, and the choice between life and death. The second opera show of the season is “Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers,” and it is a opera show about friendship, sacrifice and desire, and is based on a love affair that turns into a death sentence. The third opera show is “Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tuttle,” and it is a comedy about seduction, infidelity and disguise caused by a bet made by two men about marrying a certain woman. All three performances are amazing so if you get the chance to see all three of them I would do so.
Now on opening night at the Opera Colorado they do have opening night dinners, but I will say they are very upscale and pricey. You will have to dress really nice to dine at opening night dinners and you will have to have money to do so. They do not allow just anyone to enter these dinners, but I will say if you get the chance to do so because they are really fantastic. At the dinners you will be served appetizers, cocktails, full coarse meals and dessert and even be able to talk to the opera performers themselves, which is always a pleasure.
