As a mother, I believe that God’s love for me has carried me through the joyous times, the difficult times, and also helps me daily as I raise my child. There are many scripture passages that are helpful to me as a mother and that are meaningful to me as I grow right along with my child. I believe that many of these passages would be meaningful to mothers everywhere, including my own step-mother and mother-in-law. Some of them can be found on beautiful gifts or you can write them in cards, letters, or emails.
If you are searching for a gift to give to your mother, www.dayspring.com carries some beautiful, scripture inscribed gifts. One is a book containing the 100 most important Bible verses for women. It will give your mother many verses to meditate on as she cares for her children. Dayspring.com also carries a beautiful teapot set, containing a verse that says, “God made everything beautiful in its time. Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV”. What a great verse for a mother who is beautiful on the outside and on the inside! Or if your mother does not drink tea, you might investigate one of my favorite gifts in their online store. It is a beautiful print with the words, “I will bless her, and she shall be a mother. GENESIS 17:16 KJV.” I truly believe that a mother is blessed by having her children and this print will remind her of that every time she sees it. In my opinion, the most beautiful gift that Dayspring sells in their store is a bangle that is decorated with the verse, “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” The scripture reference “Proverbs 31:28” is engraved on the inside of the bracelet. What a special gift for any mother, mother-in-law, or step-mother!
If you need a scripture verse to put in a card or email, you can find many on your own by looking in the concordance in the back of your Bible, but here are a few that I particularly love. The first is Psalm139: 13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. This verse reminds mothers that their baby is special because created him or her. Phillipians 1:3 is a beautiful verse that will show your mom how much you appreciate her: “I thank my God every time I remember you.” (NIV). OF course, the best passage to celebrate your mother is one I already mentioned, Proverbs 31:28, “Her children arise and call her blessed…” what a great gift, to be blessed by your children!
Whichever verse reminds you of your mother – or is especially meaningful to mom – is a great one to send her. Enjoy celebrating your mom in a special way this year! God bless!
