Last night the WWE presented us with the 2008 Royal Rumble. The Royal Rumble always has a big impact on the WrestleMania pay-per-view. The winner of the Royal Rumble gets a title shot at WrestleMania and once that is decided all the other pieces of the puzzle start to fall in place. Everyone begins to speculate what the WrestleMania card will be like the day after the Royal Rumble and that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
WrestleMania Prediction #1: Chris Jericho vs. JBL
Clearly the JBL and Chris Jericho feud is going to continue after the DQ finish at Royal Rumble. I suppose the feud could end at the next pay-per-view but I have a feeling they will stretch it out to WrestleMania.
WrestleMania Prediction #2: Women’s Title Match
Who is the Women’s Title holder these days? I don’t even care about the division enough to keep track but I imagine the Women’s Title match will be Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix.
WrestleMania Prediction #3: Hulk Hogan vs. the Great Khali
There has been a lot of speculation that Hulk Hogan would make a return to the WWE for WrestleMania and the WWE likes to drag out the big giants to face Hulk Hogan.
WrestleMania Prediction #4: Tag Team Champions
This is just a shot in the dark but I’m going to say that the WWE goes with an inter-promotional match here and have the Raw Tag Team champions face the Smackdown Tag Team Champions.
WrestleMania Prediction #5: Ric Flair vs. The Big Show
Ric Flair is going to continue to put his career on the line every match and at WrestleMania he needs a difficult opponent. Who better than a giant?
WrestleMania Prediction #6: MVP vs. Matt Hardy
I’m not positive that Matt Hardy will be healthy by WrestleMania but if he is it makes perfect sense for him to get revenge on the MVP, who he feuded with for most of last year before his injury.
WrestleMania Prediction #7: Money in the Bank Match with Jeff Hardy, John Morrison, CM Punk, Shelton Benjamin, Rey Mysterio, Finlay, Charlie Haas and Jamie Noble
Okay so the last two are just wishful thinking. There will be a Money in the Bank Match this year and though I like the six man formula better they’ll probably try and cram eight men in there.
WrestleMania Prediction #8: Shawn Michaels vs. Ken Kennedy
Considering there was no singles match between Ken Kennedy and Shawn Michaels at the Royal Rumble and Ken Kennedy eliminated Shawn Michaels in the Rumble match I think it’s pretty safe to say they are headed for a WrestleMania match.
WrestleMania Prediction #9: Triple H vs. Randy Orton vs. John Cena
I can’t figure out if the WWE is going to go with a Triple H vs. Randy Orton, Randy Orton vs. John Cena or Triple H and John Cena so why not put them in a triple threat match.
WrestleMania Prediction #10: Edge vs. Undertaker
The Undertaker and Edge have never been pinned at WrestleMania. Edge is the Champion and he cost the Undertaker the World Title. The WWE is clearly leading to a match between these two and it’s a welcome fresh and interesting feud. Will Edge end the streak or will the Undertaker get another title reign?
