Dale is “From the lost continent of Western Pennsylvania beamed daily to the civilized nations of the Galaxy. (Although currently franchising.)”
1)In less of 50 words tell me about yourself, your interest, something you wan to share
I have been writing semi-professionally for twenty-three years, everything from state grant proposals, short stories, industrial video scripts, television commercials, and a slew of never completed film scripts. I consider writing and research one of the many skills that I am moderately decent at, with an expertise in none. Career challenged, I also believe I would make a fine chef, mechanic, construction worker, police office, and civil servant.
2)How long have you been a CP at AC? How many articles have you published and how many page views you got so far?
I am a newbie to Associated Content, having only contributed three articles in the past week, with a meager 30 estimated page views.
3)How did you learned about AC? Why did you become involved with AC? Was it for the money? Or something else? For fun maybe?
I learned about AC from the Yahoo “Jobs Wanted” employment classifieds. My initial intent was to pay the bills, but the process has reinvigorated my enjoyment of researching and writing.
4) What do you like to write about and why? What else would you like to write about?
I enjoy writing about things that are at the forefront of popular culture, it allows me to feel the pulse of civilization. I plan on extending my work into some of my personal interests such as film and horseshoe pitching.
5)What was your first article about, Give us the link so we can check it? Did you did it for free? If not how much did you get paid.
In my first article I wrote about the plight of rust-belt Pennsylvania and how the Democratic Presidential candidates will only casually nod at the communities of Western Pennsylvania. I wrote it for free because it was something I believe in.
It can be seen here:
6)Do you believe you were treated fairly in your first few articles (meaning approval, money paid, etc)
I have been treated great by the AC staffers with prompt approval of both paid and non-paying submissions.
7)Have you ever used customer service at AC? What has been your experience?
I haven’t found the need to contact anyone from the AC Customer Service team, having found all of the answers to my question within the FAQ.
8)What are your objectives here at AC?
I would love to polish my writing skills for a number of reasons. First, to make my writing more readable, as most of my past work was targeted towards visual media. Secondarily, I would like to create new brain synopsis allowing me to better organize my writing objectives and the flow from concept to paper. See . . . that hardly makes any sense and I hate the word “secondarily”.
9)How many times do you check AC? Do you go to AC to find info on how to become a better writer?
I check AC every time I go into writing mode, typically daily, mostly to checkout the “calls for material” listing. I have not resourced AC material for tips on writing.
10) Overall, will you keep writing for AC or you think you might go for other online writing places?
Should opportunity knock, I will certainly offer my hired pen to the greatest bounty. Hobbies don’t keep the lights on and the computer running.
