My younger daughter absolutely loves macaroni and cheese. She will eat any brand or variety, but prefers the shell pasta. While shopping at Aldi, I decided to try Cheese Club Shells & Cheese. This product cost me only a few pennies over a dollar for a twelve ounce box. The more popular brands cost at least twice that amount for the same size box. The appetizing picture on the front of the box as well as the discounted price made this product very appealing to me.
Cheese Club Shells & Cheese is very easy to prepare. After boiling six cups of water on the stove top, the pasta shells get stirred into the water. The pasta then gets boiled for approximately twelve minutes until the shells are soft. Since my children prefer their pasta to be as soft as possible without being mushy, the shells needed to be cooked for about fourteen minutes. For those who prefer their pasta to have more of a bite to it, twelve minutes should be about right. The pasta should be stirred in the pot a few times to prevent sticking. After the pasta shells are cooked to the desired tenderness, the water is drained out. The Cheese Club Shells & Cheese cheese pouch then gets opened and the cheese sauce mixed in with the pasta. The hot pasta shells melts the cheese to create a very appetizing side or main dish.
Cheese Club Shells & Cheese is very comparable to the pricier brands of shell pasta macaroni and cheese. The pasta shells are large and the cheese sauce is very tasty. The only slight difference I found between this brand and more popular brands is that the cheese sauce is slightly thinner. This would certainly not dissuade me from buying the product again, but should be noted. My children noticed absolutely no difference and devoured their helpings.
