Right out of the oven comes that perfect cake. Done to perfection, but making the frosting is always a roll of the dice. Not anymore, with Betty Crocker’s Lightest and Fluffiest Whipped frosting you’re assured to have a perfect cake every time.
Frosting a cake is always a perilous situation. If the frosting is too thick, the cake will pull apart as you attempt to spread it. If it isn’t creamy enough the sugar crystals can actually be crunchy and not very appealing. Mix this, add that, unless your background is heavily involved in baking the chances of making a mess of the whole process is pretty high.
Along comes canned frosting, this is a big improvement. They’ve got the taste down pretty good, but the spreading issue can still be a problem. If the can of frosting isn’t warmed to comfortable room temperature, it will be too stiff and again will tear the cake making a mess.
Betty Crocker’s new Whipped frosting’s have the answer. Now you have frosting in a can that is light, fluffy and very easy to spread. I just took a Red Velvet cake out of the oven, following the instructions on the package I let it cool completely before attempting to frost this dark red cake.
Can you imagine a dark red cake with white frosting tearing and allowing crumbs of the cake to mix with the frosting while your attempting to spread it? The looks of the cake would be ruined if that happened.
With caution I scooped out a big glob of frosting, surprised at how light and fluffy it was, I started spreading it over the cake. It went on very smoothly, not disturbing the top of the cake at all. A quick lick of my finger demonstrated the creamy texture and satisfying taste.
The frosting I was applying was Cream Cheese frosting. Out of the can it had one other very convenient feature, the Cream Cheese was an artificial flavoring. This may sound like a negative, but when you consider real cream cheese must be refrigerated or you risk food poisoning, it puts it in a different light. We all know that when you refrigerate a cake it dries it out rapidly, and all the fresh goodness will be gone.
Now you can have creamy Cream Cheese frosting that only requires a cool room temperature to remain safe to eat. Retaining all the creaminess and allowing the flavor of your cake to come through as well. Betty Crocker has developed a mighty fine product with their new Whipped Frostings, be sure to pick some up for your next cake. You’ll get perfect results.
